Precept 7: To Forgive Past Hurts and Betrayals
** A Silent act of Forgiveness Given by Saints **
This month, during my sleep, I had an experience where saintly souls appeared before me and bowed one by one in a deep gesture of respect and reverence… I tried to capture my experience through art by drawing a saint bowing…. I was uncertain what realm I was in, but I found myself lying down on something that did not feel like an ordinary bed or in a bedroom. The beings of light seemed immense, almost giant like in their presence. There were no spoken words exchanged, only the silent act of bowing. I was deeply moved and touched by their humble offering toward me. It was unlike anything I had ever encountered before, and it left me wondering what I had done to deserve such love and honour from these sacred beings. In reflecting on this, my thoughts turned to forgiveness—something I have been consciously practising on a soul level, including learning to forgive myself. I was reminded that Jesus went through great suffering so that he could teach his saints how to forgive freely and live by that powerful example of compassion and grace… And maybe that was my experience…
Here are some words that came to me on forgiveness. Forgiveness is a gift given freely by those who choose to surrender, opening themselves to receive truths that transcend their own limited understanding and personal reality. We forgive every day, without realising it, because we have become accustomed to following the patterns and behaviours modelled by others. So, freely I say unto you, forgive yourself and forgive others. Time never waits, and within each of us, there is a silent waiting, a space where healing can begin when forgiveness is embraced.
Aum Peace Amen
